STUFF FOR YOU FROM OLGA ZARR

😱 Are your internal links sabotaging your SEO?

Most local business owners, including lawyers, are getting internal linking wrong.

If you're still using "read more" links, you’re wasting valuable opportunities to signal to Google what your pages are about. Good internal links can boost your SEO by passing link equity to key pages, unlike generic links that do nothing for your rankings.

Extra Tip: Image links need alt text, just like text links need anchor text. Without it, Google has no idea what the linked page is about—just like a "read more" link. Don’t let your image links go to waste.

And don’t forget: external links are powerful, but only if your internal linking structure is solid. Strong internal links ensure your site’s authority flows where it matters most.

SEO TIPS FROM GOOGLE

Crawling smarter, not harder

In this episode of SOTR, John Mueller, Lizzi Sassman, and Gary Illyes talk about misconceptions around crawl frequency and site quality, what's challenging about crawling the web nowadays, and how search engines could crawl more efficiently.

Here are the key points and takeaways about crawling every SEO should know:

  • Crawl frequency doesn't equal quality or improve ranking
  • Google aims to crawl efficiently, balancing frequency and server load
  • Technical aspects like server capacity and response times matter
  • URL parameters can complicate crawling
  • Server and hosting issues often cause crawling problems
  • Site owners need better education on crawling optimization

Make sure to listen to the entire episode. It's a good one!
